On the slopes of Congo’s Rwenzori Mountain range, bordering Virunga National Park, reside 7000 smallholder coffee farmers. Park authorities have initiated agricultural projects to support these farmers, ensuring benefits for both the local community and the preservation of the park and its diverse wildlife. The focus is on imparting knowledge about sustainable farming practices, encompassing crop diversity, food security, and the promotion of specialty coffee marketing.
